Meng Fancheng, 37, is the director of the R & D Office of NHI Design and Research Institute of Fangda Group. In people's eyes, he has to deal with boring design lines every day, but only he knows that he is accompanied by "Steel Giants" every day.

In 2017, enterprises in the building materials and mining industry transformed from traditional production to industrial Internet. The day and night production of traditional stacker reclaimer requires six people to work in three shifts. The job site is full of dusty, toxic and harmful substances which affect the health of workers. At that time, Meng Fancheng thought: in the absence of earthquakes and other extreme cases, the scene can be intelligently controlled through programming and simulation. In case of high temperature, abnormal vibration and lack of oil, the equipment will give an alarm through the sensor. Through the intelligent control system, operator is capable to operate and control with the mobile phone. Therefore, he tried to use sensor technology to add intelligent detection function to each active component, simulate various scenarios in programming and presetting, and finally realized a mobile phone control device.

Meng Fancheng not only loves innovation, but also has the courage to challenge himself. 2020 is an extraordinary year for him. In this year, he completed the first domestic and world-class "China Coal Formosa plastic 65m bridge scraper reclaimer project". The project was exported to the Philippines. Due to the large equipment span and high design difficulty, many well-known companies retreated. The span of general equipment has reached the limit of 50m, and the design of 65m span makes the equipment weight exceed 100 tons. Meng Fancheng changed one side rake into two side rake around the core of "weight reduction". The speed of material transportation on both sides is faster and the weight of each rake is reduced. Focusing on this design concept, he put forward the ninth version of the design scheme, and continuously optimized the local structure for more than 290 times. Finally, he completed the main structure design of the project in three and a half months, and successfully filled the gap of super large span bridge reclaimer in China. In 2021, he won the title of Shenyang model worker. He said: "I hope to design more 'steel giants' and let them go to the world to show the style of China's large-scale equipment."
