Finding Its Bearing in a Global Context
Embarking on a New International Journey
NHI has always regarded responding to and practicing the Belt and Road Initiative as the core of its international strategy for high-quality development, formulating a clear map for overseas expansion. In terms of market layout, it aims to deeply cultivate markets along the Belt and Road in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, while expanding into premium markets in Europe and South America. In industrial focus, it centers on mining equipment, tunnel boring machine, metallurgical equipment, bulk material handling, and loading/unloading equipment to build international competitive advantages. In cooperation models, it is upgrading from single equipment supply to EPC and "Equipment + Service" full-lifecycle solutions.
Following this path, NHI is accelerating the establishment of a new overseas development paradigm, driven by a synergistic combination of technological innovation, brand building, talent development, and strategic partnerships.
Driven by Technological Innovation: Focusing on international market demands, NHI breaks through key technological barriers, developing differentiated products tailored to specific regional applications. This allows it to seize market opportunities by establishing technical advantages, thereby solidifying its core competitiveness abroad. Propelled by Brand Power: Cultivating an international brand image synonymous with "reliability, high-end quality, and professionalism," NHI leverages its reputation for quality, targeted marketing, and positive word-of-mouth. This enhances its international recognition and influence, making its brand a decisive factor for overseas clients. Anchored by Talent Development: Building a workforce equipped with technical expertise, a global mindset, and cross-cultural communication skills is fundamental to NHI's strategy. This talent pool provides the essential human capital for market development, project execution, and customer service overseas, forging versatile key personnel suited for international operations. Enabled by Strategic Cooperation: Forming strategic alliances with central state-owned enterprises and international leaders enables NHI to "go global collectively." This approach reduces operational costs, mitigates market risks, fosters mutual benefit and synergistic development, and leverages global resources to widen its overseas channels.
Strong Support from Robust Capabilities
"Made in China" Shines Brightly
Tracing the timeline, one can witness the marks left by NHI's products in upholding the "heavy equipment" standard along the Belt and Road, each frozen frame is thrilling and exhilarating.
In June 2024, a Φ7.9×4.8m wet SAG Mill and a Φ6.4×9.7m overflow Ball Mill, manufactured by NHI for Eritrea's Asmara Polymetallic Mine Project were successfully commissioned in Shenyang. Representing the pinnacle of Chinese high-end manufacturing, this equipment not only showcases NHI's extreme manufacturing capabilities but also injects robust momentum into China-Eritrea economic cooperation, marking another landmark achievement under the Belt and Road framework.
June 2025 witnessed NHI securing a contract for crawler transporters from a century-old German giant in material handling equipment. This breakthrough signifies the first entry of China's independently developed heavy-duty crawler conveyors for open-pit mines into the European market. Penetrating this market known as the historical source of global material handling technology and standards, required overcoming exceptionally high barriers. NHI's success in reverse-exporting its high-end equipment to this traditional industry powerhouse constitutes a historic leap, breaking longstanding Western technological blockades and propelling China from a follower to a peer and even a leader in this field. Industry experts note that this breakthrough is profoundly reshaping the global mining equipment landscape, significantly enhancing the prestige of "Intelligent Manufacturing in China."
On November 11, 2025, the Simandou Iron Ore Project in Guinea, hailed as "Africa's largest mine," commenced operations. This super project, pivotal to Guinea's development and the global steel industry, bears the distinct mark of Chinese engineering. Twenty heavy-duty apron feeders designed and manufactured by NHI, function as the project's "steel throat," their exceptional capacity providing the critical material handling foundation for this "world-class steel granary."
Across Southeast Asia, in nations like Malaysia and Vietnam, NHI's TBM have become the preferred choice for metro and water conservancy projects, contributing robust "Chinese Solutions" to regional connectivity. Moreover, the "Fenjin" TBM entirely designed and built by NHI, set a world record by tunneling 26.521 kilometers on a single deployment in a Xinjiang province project, demonstrating formidable Chinese tunneling prowess and offering reliable technical assurance for Belt and Road transportation infrastructure.
Forging a Core Engine of Innovation
Building New Edges for Global Competition
Recognizing the Belt and Road Initiative as a complex, evolving system now entering a stage of high-quality development, NHI consistently treats technological innovation as its core engine for enhancing its capabilities and sharpening its international competitive edge.
NHI's innovative strength is evidenced by its portfolio of over 180 granted patents. In 2022, relying on the Philippine MPGC project, NHI successfully developed a 65-meter large-span, fully explosion-proof, multi-machine common-rail intelligent fully enclosed bridge-type scraper reclaimer. Boasting the world's largest span for this equipment type, it represents a milestone in China's bulk handling sector. Its design complexity is rare globally, its overall performance matches advanced international standards, and it incorporates proprietary intellectual property and branding. This project, which also marked its commercial debut, received a national excellence award for mechanical industry product innovation, featuring a domestically pioneered common-rail process.
Demonstrating versatility in tunnel engineering, NHI developed and built the world's first coal mine roadway boring machine in 2021. This was followed in 2023 by China's first full-face excavation and mining machine for solid potash mines, achieving a critical breakthrough in domestic equipment for efficient potash extraction.
From its base in Shenyang to projects along the Belt and Road and all over the world, from the depths of mines to the ends of tunnels and the front lines of infrastructure and resource development, NHI is leaving a profound "China Mark," upheld by its responsibility as a provider of essential machinery. Looking forward, NHI will continue to champion the integrated development of digitalization and green technologies, aiming to ensure that "NHI Manufacturing" shines brightly worldwide, supported by superior products and services.
